Associate Pastor, Chris Sienes
I’ve been married to Jennifer since 2006—the best years of my life thus far. We moved to Tennessee from the living ghost town of Volcano in Northern California in 2018 after I retired as a chiropractor. Of course, I didn’t actually retire; I was merely reassigned.
One of the best aspects of being a chiropractor was the opportunity to serve others, which is one of the ways the Lord has wired me. Not only do I love serving at our church, but also as a chaplain for disaster relief with the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team and the Southern Baptist Disaster Relief. I am also a volunteer chaplain at our local hospital and deliver food for HopeTown.
But most of all, I love serving my wife! Jennifer left teaching middle school when we were still in California to follow God’s calling to write full-time. You know how those creative people are; they’ll forget to eat if you don’t put food in front of them.
I have always gotten re-energized out in nature. When I was younger, I thought it was creation that drew me. What I have come to understand is that it was the Creator calling me to Him. I enjoy working on our property in Cornersville, hiking, and, during hunting season, sitting in a tree stand when the day awakens and praising the Lord. And of course, keeping an eye out for that perfect buck!
God has been good to me in so many ways; I try to be thankful for that every day.
‘The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands.’
